Kano is using the popular Harry Potter stories in order to gamify coding and get kids interested in programming. The Harry Potter Kano Coding Kit uses a wand and an app on any iOS, Android, Windows or Mac device.

The wand is equipped with motion sensors, and users will ultimately learn to program it with spells. The app teaches using digital blocks, which kids can piece together into more complex commands as they complete 70 coding challenges. From there, they can start building their own special effects using what they've learned. They can also visit the Kano World website to share what they've built with other coding wizards and witches.
