How many states have sued to stop the T-Mobile/Sprint merge?

On Monday, Oregon joined 14 other states and the District of Columbia in supporting a lawsuit against the large telecom merger. First filed on June 11, the suit aims to prevent T-Mobile’s planned takeover of Sprint, which was approved by the U.S. Department of Justice last month.

Led by California Attorney General Xavier Becerra and New York Attorney General Letitia James, the plaintiffs claim that the deal would hurt competition by further decreasing consumer choice in the already too-small telecom market. Gizmodo reports that the merger could cost customers of the two companies a combined $4.5 billion per year.

The remaining 14 states are California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada, New York, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.
