BELLEVUE, Wash. -- The U.S. Army sees online training as a way to meet its recruiting goals. The U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) is creating a distance-learning system to support more than 7,000 Army recruiters throughout the nation.

USAREC will use Click2learn's Aspen Learning Management System to electronically deliver course material to station commanders, guidance counselors and other personnel. In addition, it will allow the Recruiting Command to track recruiter's training progress and report the results to the senior command. The courses will be available to both Regular Army and Army Reserve staff.

We consider our field recruiters to be ambassadors of the U.S. Army to the civilian public. We expect their knowledge and skill to represent the highest quality of our organization and our personnel to new and potential recruits, said Dennis Stillman, USAREC University Technical Lead. Aspen provides sophisticated, scalable learning technology, which we need to deliver critical information to our recruiters nationwide to help them continue to meet their recruiting and retention goals.
