The Disaster that Did Not Happen

Miracle on the Hudson is an unusual disaster movie.

I can tell you from personal experience and from extensive reading and investigation on the topic, it is very rare that a disaster scenario turns out as well as the Miracle on the Hudson, when a US Airways jet landed in a river and everyone walked/swam/boated away safely.

Success came from the right pilot and co-pilot, the right airplane, relentless training and attention to detail, a lack of watercraft in the landing zone, and you can call it God's grace or luck, most crashes if not all, do not end up with the same results. It was the disaster that did not happen.
