A new type of implantable sensor will allow the detection of what unwanted biological event?

Developed as an early-warning system for a patient’s body rejecting a transplanted organ, the electrical sensor was designed to detect electrolyte and protein levels. Research for the invention, conducted out of Ohio State University, could also be applied to other devices, such as hypodermic needles, to check how a transplanted organ is doing.
