The SkyOrbiter drone fleet would fly for years at a time for what purpose?

Answer: to provide Internet access

The SkyOrbiter program, being developed by Quarkson, a civic engagement project, would use six different low-altitude drone models to bring Internet access to remote areas around the world.

The largest and highest-flying model has a wingspan of 246 feet and can fly for five years. The fleet uses a combination of solar power and fossil fuel, and its maiden flight will be the project’s proof of concept as the vehicles attempt to fly from pole to pole, and around the world.
