South Carolina Redesigns State Web Portal, Adds Features
South Carolina's last Web portal update was in November 2005.
South Carolina has redesigned its Web portal SC.gov in a project that was five years in the making.
Originally launched in November 2005, the state's official Web site has a new look and new features that were announced Tuesday, March 9. Enhancements include an updated design, better resources for local government information and new social media tools.
"We wanted the new version of SC.gov to provide an inviting and intuitive online presence to connect users to the information they are seeking," said Barbara Teusink, deputy division director for the Division of State Information Technology. "The new site combines best practices and the latest technology to deliver a user-friendly and attractive online experience based on customer activity and feedback."
New features that categorize information sections by subject and user group make finding important information and the most frequently requested information easier, according to a news release. Additional resources have also been added to the homepage for easier access, including a direct link to customer support live chat and an online state phone directory.
