(TNS) — K-State president Richard Linton on Wednesday updated the Kansas Board of Regents about the university's cybersecurity breach.

Regents chairman Jon Rolph told The Mercury that Linton gave a report during an executive session in the Regents' regular meeting.

Rolph, who is the president and CEO of a group that owns and operates 150 restaurants, declined to give further details. Linton spoke in executive session, which is a part of a public meeting that's allowed to be private only in certain circumstances.

K-State said Wednesday it was investigating disruptions to multiple online systems following a cybersecurity breach.

Officials said the breach involves network systems including VPN, K-State Today emails, Canvas and Mediasite.
