West Kendall Baptist Hospital in Florida became the first U.S. medical institution to begin using the machine in September. By providing high-resolution imagery of blood vessels, soft tissue, organs and bone, medical professionals are able to view clear images of a patient’s beating heart, expanding and contracting lungs, liver and other innards -- with reduced exposure to radiation.
