Last week, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe called for a robot Olympics by 2020, where the world’s nations can pit their machines against one another.

Existing robotics competitions like RoboGames, FIRST, RoboCup and the DARPA Robotics Challenge offer a chance for competition, while Cybathalon 2016, to be held in Switzerland, will provide a chance for people with robotic parts to compete.
