Which country has the fastest average Internet connection speed?

According to the latest quarterly report by Akamai Technologies, called the State of the Internet, South Korea ranked first for average Internet connection speed at 14.2 Mbps. Following South Korea are Japan, Hong Kong, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Sweden, the U.S., and Denmark. The U.S. reported an average speed of 8.6 Mbps, compared to a global average of 3.1 Mbps.
