The International Energy Agency recently reported that by 2050, solar power will be the world’s largest source of electricity. The shift to solar is estimated to drive a $44-trillion investment boom. The study released by the agency also predicted that the technology will begin to make big progress between 2025 and 2030, when the cost of solar is estimated to reach $100 per megawatt hour (MWh), and carbon fuels are to reach $50 per ton.
