Available for about $240, the tablet is out of reach financially for most North Koreans. The device features 800 by 480 pixel resolution, and pre-installed software like the Microsoft Office package, Angry Birds, and a Siri-esque speech recognition program. The tablet can’t connect to the Internet, but it is loaded with e-books such as those about former leader Kim Il-sung in a section entitled “Immortal Leadership,” and in another section, called “Immortal History,” the user can learn of the nation’s (revisionist) history.
