Somewhere in Seoul there is a gigantic cat photo on the side of a building. And it’s not even, like, a well-staged photo or an ad for catnip. Nope, it’s just a random, run-of-the-mill cat photo. Measuring 92 feet by 72 feet, it was printed on 12 canvas strips.
Why, you ask? Well, Samsung is showing off the fact that it has developed a 200-megapixel camera for smartphones. For reference, the camera on the new iPhone 13 Pro is only 12 megapixels, and it takes pretty darn good photos. Imagine what 200 can do. Well actually, you don’t have to — that was the whole point.
