New York City Wants to Open its Checkbook (App)

The comptroller wants to give software behind its transparency site to other state and local governments, which he hopes will create a community of users that constantly adds improvements and develops new features.

The New York City Comptroller’s Office recently completed an upgrade to its transparency website, known as Checkbook NYC. Now the comptroller wants to give the software behind the site to other state and local governments. The move is intended to create a community of users that would constantly add improvements and develop new features.
