The DMV announced Wednesday that it would be accepting Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay at all 75 of its customer service centers and any DMV 2 Go Mobile office. The service is not available through DMV Connect.
Customers will be able to use smartphones, smartwatches or tablets to make payments.
“Not only is this payment option secure and convenient, it also shaves seconds from transaction times, which add up in busy DMV offices,” said Richard Holcomb, the department’s commissioner.
The DMV asks customers to use online services when possible, such as for renewals of vehicle registration or a driver’s license and changes of address.
