A Nevada bill would allow inmates to have and use Internet access under certain conditions. AB34 would allow inmates to access the Internet for "authorized lawful purposes" including:
Exchanging e-mail with authorized persons
Videoconference visitations
Videoconferenced hearings with the State Board of Parole Commissioners
Video arraignment
Telemedicine
Law library access
Online education programs
Purchase of certain items
File transfers
The bill also expands monitoring of inmate communication when using an electronic device.
