The software will enhance the integrated justice system that the McAllen Police Department has with the neighboring cities of Pharr, Edinburg and Hidalgo.
When a call is entered into CAD and closed, the incident is automatically recorded in records management and attached to the appropriate file for reporting or inquiry at a later date by investigators, corrections officers or judicial officials. Sharing information with neighboring cities helps increase the ability to close cases and provide officers with real-time information about a subject when he/she needs it.
McAllen is located in the Rio Grande Valley area of Texas and has a population of approximately 100,000. Between McAllen, Pharr, Edinburg and Hidalgo, the departments service a greater population of 200,000. The software will help 475 sworn officers and 57 dispatchers provide enhanced services, support 250,000 calls for service a year, as well as help manage 70 beds in the correctional facility.
