What’s in Your Zombie Survival Kit?

The CDC’s zombie campaign integrated the popularity of the living dead with emergency preparedness, and it’s still reaching new audiences.

Ever since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) launched its creative "zombie apocalypse" campaign, Americans have been even more exposed to the recommendation of making a survival kit for any disaster. Kristy Fifelski, the new media director of Emergency Management’s parent company, e.Republic, shows what’s in her go bag and if it matches what the CDC recommends in the following video.

"If you are generally well equipped to deal with a zombie apocalypse you will be prepared for a hurricane, pandemic, earthquake or terrorist attack,” said Ali Khan, director of the CDC’s Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response, on the agency’s website.

Previously Emergency Management reported on how government agencies were working the popularity of zombies into their preparedness messages and even disaster drills. Are you still using zombies to promote preparedness? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
