Living on the Water's Edge

Looks beautiful to behold, but — about that water ...

People are suckered into buying waterfront property every day. I could be talked into buying a home on a lake, but you won't ever catch me living as close as this house is to salt water or a river. The home pictured is offered at $3M.

The problem is that there have been generations of people who have experienced all the joys of having a home this close to nature — with no problems. As my daughter-in-law said when they bought their home on Clark's Creek in Puyallup, the last family lived here for over 20 years with no problems. Their home is 65 feet from their back door to the creek.

What could possibly happen? I don't know, maybe 12 inches of rain in two hours?
