Paradise Open for Business

Or, people can at least return to assess the damages.

The Camp Fire that destroyed most of the California city of Paradise started on Nov. 8, 2018. Dec. 16 was the first day residents were allowed back into the city to assess the damages to their property. However, they have been advised to bring enough provisions, food and water, and a full tank of gas, since a clear majority of businesses was also destroyed.

I noted earlier that one family whose home was spared is wondering how they can live in a community with no stores, neighbors or schools.

It is predictable that rebuilding will happen, but it will be a long, slow slog and the character of the area is likely to be altered going forward.
