2020 a Banner Year for Blogging

2020 is one for the history books!

Disasters are generally what drives people to come to this the Disaster Zone blog. Years with large-scale disasters, those that attract widespread attention, cause people beyond emergency managers to look for disaster information.

Thus, 2020 was a BIG year for Disaster Zone. Because of COVID-19 and the uncertainty at first, people were hungry for information. Today I totaled up the number of blog posts (802 — yikes!).

The total number of Web hits or views topped out at 499,000, almost half a million, for all of 2020. Over the past 11 years of blogging, there have been a total of 2.77 million hits for the blog.

Thanks to all the readers who occasionally send me information to share. I only have so much capacity to find items of interest in the professional field of emergency management, so your sharing helps a great deal.

Best wishes to everyone for a safe and sane 2021. Who knows what it will bring? For that, watch for my 2021 predictions in another blog post.
