All summer long we have had sustained drought conditions, with almost 2 million acres burned by wildfires in California alone.

Now, we are in the midst of a wind and rain event that will cause more damages and trouble for people and property. Check out “Grand finale bomb cyclone barreling in at end of West Coast storm parade.”

While the rain is greatly appreciated, it will come in quantities that are sure to cause flooding and mudslides in areas scorched by fires.

Here on Sunday there are power outages being reported throughout Puget Sound. Just yesterday I told my wife that the wildfire danger in western Washington is over. The next sequence of disasters will come!
