Border Patrol Testing Small Drones

See this story, Border Patrol testing drones to be its 'eyes in the sky,' which provides a bit of detail on a new program to arm border agents with small drones to extend their ability to surveil larger swaths of land than they can do today via vehicle or on-foot.

The fact that it is the border patrol using drones may be the type of use that gives drones a black eye in the opinion of some. 

The one thing I didn't read in the article is how they will meet the FAA requirement to have visual contact between the operator and the drone. The 10-mile example they used — makes me bring the issue up in this blog post.
