My latest
Disaster Zone podcast, "Personal Reflections on Major Disasters," is an interview which I think from a "personal development perspective" is the best podcast to date, and one which emergency managers and others can relate to and learn from. The interviewee is Michael Byrne, who has been in the center of disaster response for many major disasters.
The disasters include:
- The terrorist attacks of 9/11
- Hurricane Katrina recovery
- Alabama tornado outbreak
- Hurricane Maria hitting Puerto Rico
If it is possible to learn from the experiences of others who have gone before us, then this is one to listen to.
Eric Holdeman is a contributing writer for Emergency Management magazine and is the former director of the King County, Wash., Office of Emergency Management.
