Election Security Should Be Top of the News

Other "administration storms" push the topic off the front page.

Disasters are headline news when they happen. Before they happen and after the response has passed — not so much. Thus this news item, Trump meets with Cabinet officials on election security got little media attention last week. I guess there are only so many stories you can have on the evening news. 

Just remember, free and open elections are the bedrock of our republic and democracy. That is why in a hotly contested presidential election year, only 60 percent of voters cast their ballots, which while low in my opinion, was still high for modern elections.
