I was talking about information from the New York Times a few weeks back and my neighbor poo-pooed the thought of anything coming from the NY Times, saying “you can’t trust them!”

Well, I trust them on most things. I read a book a couple of years ago written by an attorney for the NY Times about the due diligence they do before any article is published. I was impressed. They have an opinion page, but they don’t label that as “news.”

I closely follow their daily updates at this site: “Coronavirus in the U.S.: Latest Map and Case Count.” There is no paywall to get access to this information and it is tracked down to the county level, but I noted Nebraska is blank.

When you hear or read that the South is high in coronavirus cases, you can visually see what the color-coded map shows you. Louisiana right now is headed off the charts compared to other states.
