Minneapolis police officers in the First Precinct downtown have a new and valuable crime-fighting tool at their disposal. Officers on patrol will now have an option to ride T-3 personal mobility vehicles. This next generation in police transport has three wheels, is extremely maneuverable, and runs on electricity.

The T-3 will not only increase their presence and visibility, but also help them maneuver through crowds, patrol skyways and be seen more readily. The battery-powered, zero-gas-emission T-3s let officers ride while standing and raises their sight line above cars and crowds. Officers can see farther and move faster, but turn on a dime if they need to. With a top speed of 25 miles per hour, the T-3s help officers cover more ground more quickly in an emergency. On routine patrol, the T-3 is a real attention-getter. People have a clear view of the officer from far away, but it also means people can talk directly with officers in close range.

The first two T-3s to hit the streets were donated to the Minneapolis Police Department through the support of Target Corporation and paid for by T-3 Motion. The First Precinct plans to have a total of six T-3s in use by the end of the year.
