According to his LinkedIn profile, Hayslip started his tenure with the local government in May 2013. During his time with the city, he worked across more than 40 departments to bolster the cybersecurity defenses, according to the Union Tribune.
In his previous role, Hayslip led operational teams as a Command Information Security Officer with the U.S. Navy.
He currently serves on a number of cybersecurity boards, including the California Governor’s Cyber Taskforce, and has received a number of awards and accreditations from a variety of cybersecurity-focused organizations.
