Job: FEMA,Deputy Director, External Affairs

For a government and events that never end.

Should you feel up for the task, see this job announcement, FEMA Headquarters, Deputy Director, External Affairs.

I have no way of knowing what the internal agency competition might be for this position, but I expect in a town with many such professionals working, there will not be a lack of applications. If you are from out of town, you can give it a shot, but I'm expecting someone in the D.C. metroplex will be the successful candidate.

Just know that a crisis/disaster is always brewing somewhere and communications staff are on the front line of responding to those events. I think the adjectives of high stress and fast paced will be the norm for the successful candidate.
