The Center for Digital Government* surveyed state and local gov tech leaders on the status of identiy access management efforts in their jurisdictions. Here are some of the findings.

Surveyed state and local gov tech leaders indicated cybersecurity protection of critical assets as the top reason to use identity access managment.

Of those state and local governements using identity and access management, nearly half use both on-premise and cloud solutions.

Agencies surveyed indicated lack of funding as the leading roadblock standing in the way of implementing identity access management solutions, with difficulty integrating with legacy systems coming in at a close second.

The majority of surveyed respondents indicated that their chief information security officer plays a central role in their identity access management.
