Texas governor dissolves Homeland Security panel.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry will dissolve the state Task Force on Homeland Security, the panel charged with recommending ways to improve security after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, according to an Associated Press story.

Dave Beckwith, a spokesman for the panel's chairman, Lt. Gov.-elect David Dewhurst, said late Thursday that Dewhurst's office was unaware of Perry's decision.
