William Boudreaux was named the city’s new chief technology officer. Boudreaux has been the acting city director of information technology since January 2022.
Prior to his experience with the city, he worked for the University of Rochester Medical Center and gained private-sector experience with United Technologies Corp. and Ultralife Batteries Inc. His appointment is subject to confirmation by the city council.
“As we move into the second half of my first year in office, we are accelerating out of the curve with increasing momentum toward our vision for a hope-filled Rochester with an exciting future,” said Evans in the announcement.
Carla Johnson, who has been with the city since 1989, was appointed as the manager of diversity, equity and inclusion, a position in which she will implement equity-related initiatives.
Finally, Harriet Fisher was appointed as the director of the Office of Project Management. Fisher has been with the city since 1998, most recently as the enterprise applications manager in the Information Technology Department. Her experience automating systems will lend to her work implementing projects like the city’s land management system updates.
Evans also announced the appointments of David Smith to the position of chief of the Rochester Police Department and Keith Stith as the department’s deputy chief of community engagement.
