This then is the problem ... ignorant people being sucked in by hucksters.

For those of us in the disaster business, the existence of Cape Coral is what we dread. Man-made disasters waiting to happen. Check out this Politico article, The Boomtown That Shouldn’t Exist.

The sorry state of affairs is that the political direction in Florida is going in the wrong direction when it comes to limiting development in dangerous areas. Safety and long-term security are being sacrificed for a growth agenda that promotes making a quick buck, no matter what the cost is at some point in the future. 

Personally, I don't know how these people can sleep at night. They must not have a conscience.
