COVID-19: The Mother's Day Virus

Six weeks after Mother's Day, will hospital admissions be up?

Mother's Day is this coming Sunday. I'm expecting many people will ignore social distancing at their parents' and grandparents' risk.

To those who wish to hug the ones they love, I suggest that they put aside their anti-science beliefs and express their "liberty feelings" in a different manner.

I came up with June 21 as the date to watch based on it being six weeks from Mother's Day. That gives the virus three weeks before people feel the symptoms of the illness and another three weeks of being ill with the virus -- before they need hospitalization. Of course, those with compromised health conditions might become sicker earlier.

My suggestion is to skip the hugs of Grandma and social distance in the driveway or some other outdoor place. Keep a minimum of six feet away and put little Johnny on Grandpa's knee in another couple of months, when it appears to be safe to do so. Now is not the time!
