The bad news? TikTok could be banned in the U.S. next year. The good news? We can still use it until then. Including the president.

The legislation signed this week sets a deadline of Jan. 19, the day before the presidential inauguration, for TikTok’s parent company ByteDance to divest itself from the app. Failure to do so will result in a nationwide ban of TikTok. But in the meantime, President Joe Biden’s campaign intends to continue using the app.

“When the stakes are this high in the election, we are going to use every tool we have to reach young voters where they are,” a Biden campaign official told the Financial Times. They also assured that “enhanced security measures” are in place while the campaign uses the platform.
