Mexican Attorney General, Staff Get Chip Implants

Implant replaces ID cards for access to restricted areas.

The Attorney General of Mexico, Rafael Macedo de la Concha, recently announced at the opening of Mexico's National Information Center that he and some of his staff had been implanted with VeriChips to replace their ID tags for access to restricted areas, and to access the country's crime database. Some believe this may be an effort to track kidnapped officials, and the UK Register questioned the wisdom of announcing the technology implants saying that kidnappers would have little reluctance to remove the chips.
