Fiftieth Arrest for the South Carolina Internet Predator Task Force

Police arrest Williamston man in Internet predator sting.

South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster has announced the 50th arrest under the Internet Predator Law which was passed in 2004. Charles Morgan Wilson of Williamston, was arrested on December 20, 2006, in an undercover Internet sting conducted by the City of Anderson Police Department.

The City of Anderson Police Department is a member of the Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

Wilson was arrested on one count of Criminal Solicitation of a Minor, a felony offense punishable to ten years imprisonment, and one count of Attempted Criminal Sexual Conduct With a Minor, a felony offense punishable to twenty years imprisonment.

Arrest warrants allege that Wilson began online "chats" on December 20, 2006, with a person he believed to be a twelve year old girl. In reality, he was communicating with an undercover Anderson Police Officer.

Wilson further arranged to meet the "girl" for sex at a predetermined location in Anderson. He was arrested upon his arrival at that location the same day.

Wilson is currently on probation for a prior criminal offense. McMaster stressed that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
