(TNS) - More people have lost power as a snowstorm continues to hit Massachusetts on Tuesday.

Almost 66,000 customers were without power as of 9:49 a.m., according to an outage map provided by the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency. Most of these customers were located in Western Massachusetts.

Nearly all customers were without power in Williamstown, Clarksburg, Florida, Monroe, North Adams, New Ashford, Cheshire, Hawley, Plainfield, Ashfield, Shelburne, Goshen, Williamsburg, Chesterfield, Westhampton, Becket, Monterey, Richmond and Mount Washington.

Over 32,000 National Grid users lacked power while almost 23,000 Eversource customers were without electricity, according to MEMA. A little over 11,000 UNITIL customers lost their power.

In emails alerting customers, National Grid and Eversource provided resources and recommendations on how to stay safe during the storm, MassLive previously reported. UNITIL said it secured third-party crews to help customers in case of an outage, and opened system and regional emergency operation centers on Tuesday.

UNITIL recommended staying prepared with an inventory of flashlights and fresh batteries, portable chargers, bottled water, canned foods, a manual can opener and a first aid kit. Customers experiencing outages are asked to call 1-888-301-7700 or report online at unitil.com/report-outage.

Customers were asked to report any outage online at Eversource.com or by calling 800-592-2000 in Eastern Massachusetts or 877-659-6326 in Western Massachusetts. Customers who signed up for the company’s two-way texting feature can send a text to report an outage and receive outage updates as they happen.

National Grid customers can get outage alerts by texting REG to 64743. Once registered, text OUT to 64743 to report any outages or STAT to check the status of an outage. Users can also report outages online or call 1-800-465-1212. Call that same number or 911 immediately if you encounter a downed line, National Grid said.
