New Hampshire drew wide attention earlier this year for approving a measure that requires state agencies to consider open source options when purchasing software and to adopt open data standards. The measure, HB 418, was signed into law in February.
At the NASCIO Midyear Conference in Baltimore last week, New Hampshire CIO Bill Rogers discussed how the new law works and detailed the benefits he expects the state to see as a result.
