Will the Cloud Replace Government Data Centers?

Like everyone else in the technology business, state CIOs are exploring how cloud computing fits into their IT strategies. Last month, NASCIO’s annual top-10 survey of CIO priorities ranked cloud computing at No. 5, slightly behind cost control, but in front of other hot-button topics like security and mobility. That interest, however, doesn’t necessarily mean the days are numbered for government data centers.

In part two of Government Technology’s CIO interview series, we ask CIOs from seven states for their thoughts on the future of the government data center.
