Mark Bengel has amassed over 38 years of leadership experience in the technology sector with special focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of government services. Mark served as CIO for the State of Tennessee for over twelve years, ranking him as one of the most experienced State CIOs in the nation. Mark's prior experience includes; Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the State of Tennessee, CIO for the Cabinet for Health and family Services in Kentucky, and Director of Customer Operations for Gaylord Brothers of New York (now Polaris Library Systems). Mark has never shied away from difficult problems and has been a force for change in Tennessee State Government. His approach to leadership is focused on humility, respect, and shared responsibility.
