Todd Sander

Senior Fellow, Center for Digital Government

Todd brings over two decades of public sector CIO experience across state and local government and public utilities. During his career he has been instrumental in shaping national conversations and initiatives focused on successfully leveraging technology to enhance public service. His deep understanding of the intricacies of public sector IT makes him an experienced voice in advancing the digital government landscape through innovative government and industry partnerships.

Todd previously served as the Vice President of the Center for Digital Government and Governing Institute. In this role, he provided organizational leadership and strategic and research direction, leveraging his extensive experience with both industry and government.

Sander has also held various C-level roles in the public sector. His past experience includes serving as:

  • CIO of the Lower Colorado River Authority in Texas
  • CIO/Assistant City Manager for the City of Tucson, Arizona
  • Deputy CIO for the State of Washington

He has worked extensively with federal, state and local governments and public utilities for over 20 years, focusing on improving public service through the effective acquisition, implementation and use of information technology. He is graduate of the University of San Francisco with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Management.
