Launched last year, Hunch Analytics examines public and private datasets to assist leaders in the health care, education and energy markets. Based in Arlington, Va., little else is known about the startup company beyond what’s listed at its website.
Chopra declined a Washington Post request for comment, telling the news outlet that Hunch Analytics is in “stealth mode.” The Post noted that Dan Ross, a former managing director at Reston, Va.-based Claraview, is also listed on LinkedIn as co-founder and executive vice president at Hunch Analytics.
In his tenure as U.S. CTO, Aneesh Chopra was known as a champion of open government and data initiatives. Prior to his federal appointment, Chopra served as Virginia’s secretary of technology, where he was named one of Government Technology’s Top 25 Does, Dreamers and Drivers for 2008. He left federal office in 2012 to pursue what was an unsuccessful campaign to be lieutenant governor of Virginia.
