Experienced Indiana IT Leader Fulfills Interim CIO Role

The Indiana Office of Technology (IOT) tapped the agency’s chief administrative officer to step into the role of interim state CIO until a permanent replacement is tapped.

Devan Penn, a communications specialist with IOT, said Robert Paglia stepped into the interim role after the departure of Dewand Neely, who left after 15 years in Indiana state government on Nov. 22.

Robert Paglia has been with IOT for more than 16 years, according to LinkedIn. He was brought on in 2003 from Aon Hewitt to serve as the agency’s administrative officer.

Paglia wrote on his LinkedIn that he serves IOT “with a passion to provide information technology that includes government-to-citizen, government-to-business and government-to-government interactions.”

Penn said IOT leaders are still determining the best course for the hiring a permanent CIO. Paglia has served as interim CIO since Nov. 25, she said.
