Elon Musk: Tesla to Stream with Netflix, YouTube in Car Soon

Once fully autonomous driving is legalized by lawmakers, the function will also be available while the vehicle is in transit as well as while parked, Elon Musk, co-founder and CEO of Tesla, announced.

(TNS) — As smart cars continue to get smarter, Tesla drivers will soon be able to view popular streaming services from their front seat.

Elon Musk, co-founder and CEO of Tesla, announced on Saturday that Tesla owners will soon be able to stream Netflix and YouTube to their vehicle’s center screen.

“Ability to stream YouTube & Netflix when car is stopped coming to your Tesla soon! Has an amazingly immersive, cinematic feel due to the comfy seats & surround sound audio,” Musk wrote on Twitter.

Upon release, the service will only be available while the car is not in motion.

However, Musk went on to say that once fully autonomous driving is legalized by lawmakers, the function will also be available while the vehicle is in transit.

“When full self-driving is approved by regulators, we will enable video while moving,” Musk added.
