(TNS) — A judge on Sunday set bail at $2 million for a 17-year-old accused of fatally shooting a Florida man last month while he was wearing a GPS tracker for a juvenile gun case, according to Cook County prosecutors.

Fabian Diaz , of Franklin Park, was charged as an adult with first-degree murder in the Oct. 16 shooting outside a bar in the 7600 block of West Belmont Avenue, authorities said. He appeared before a judge during a bail hearing broadcast on YouTube.

Diaz was captured on surveillance video with another uncharged gunman firing shots that killed  Ramon Flores Jr ., 42, who was hosting a birthday party at the bar, prosecutors said. Authorities said a GPS device placed on Diaz for a pending juvenile gun case confirmed that he was inside a gray Toyota Camry that fled the scene and dropped him off at home.

Prosecutors said the motive for the shooting of Flores, of Orlando, Florida, was unknown but believed to be gang-related. Diaz’s attorney,  Tamara Walker , said he was a Walmart clerk who lived with his family and was working toward a GED. She added that her client had post-traumatic stress disorder after he was shot and wounded.

Judge  Susana Ortiz  denied the prosecution’s request to hold Diaz without bail but ordered the high bail along with house arrest because of the evidence against him.

He is scheduled to return to court Tuesday.
