Milwaukee Police Department Installs Public Safety Automation System

Wisconsin agency gains computer aided dispatch system.

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Police Department recently installed a computer aided dispatch (CAD) system in phase one of a contract to upgrade the department's dispatching, records management and field automation systems.

The city contracted with Tiburon, CompuDyne's Public Safety and Justice unit, to upgrade the police department's existing CAD system, which will allow police dispatchers to respond to and manage more than 500,000 calls for service more efficiently.

Tiburon's distributed solution provides a complete desktop CAD system for every user and provides automatic and efficient synchronization for each workstation. If any component fails, the system continues to function.

The company is currently implementing the subsequent systems -- police records management and automated field reporting.
