GovGirl Joins Govtech

September 13, 2012 By

Kristy Fifelski, the former city webmaster who is known as GovGirl in the IT industry, has joined Government Technology and is bringing along her popular video blogs.

Fifelski has been named the new media director of Folsom, Calif.-based e.Republic, Government Technology’s parent company. E.Republic also produces Governing, Emergency Management and Public CIO magazines.

For more than a decade Fifelski worked in city government, most recently as the webmaster for Reno, Nev. During that time, Fifelski started making practical and humorous videos about all things e-government under her GovGirl moniker on GovGirl.com.

With Government Technology and e.Republic, Fifelski will continue to regularly host her GovGirl videos and will be responsible for social media strategies and new media product development

But don’t take my word for it. GovGirl made a video announcing her arrival.
