Avoiding Hidden Costs Of The Cloud (Infographic)

February 5, 2013 By

Cloud computing is becoming more widely accepted and adopted in the public sector, as evidenced by Colorado's move to Gmail and Google Apps for Government last last year, and Pittsburgh and Wyoming before it (among others).

Cloud computing is seen by government as a way to reduce waste, increase efficiency and cut cost -- but that doesn't mean it's without obstacles and challenges, as reported by Symantec's Avoiding the Hidden Costs of Cloud 2013 Survey (PDF)

According to the report, agencies that moved to the cloud too quickly did not take proper steps to implementation, resulting in the majority of hidden costs. The report discusses what those hidden costs are and how to avoid them -- and the condensed version is in the infographic below.
